Authors/Books: The Two Rivers Reading Series typically features one author/one book per semester, although we frequently host panels of up to three authors featured in an anthology/collection. We are looking for full-length books of engaging poetry or prose that faculty can adopt for course use in our literature, creative writing, composition, reading, and other courses the semester of the event.
Books must be engaging and relevant to our student population. Writers should have experience in front of large audiences in an interview and reading format. We are committed to excellence and to offering our students the opportunity to hear from diverse voices.
What we are not looking for: We do not feature chapbooks, self-published books, or publications not of a literary nature.
Compensation: We pay our visiting authors and provide lunch the day of the event. Additionally, our featured authors benefit from book sales. Our budget does not typically allow for hotel and airfare; however, we welcome the opportunity to work with other area colleges, universities, and publishers bringing in national authors.
If you would like your book to be considered: Please send a cover letter and four copies of your book to the Two Rivers Reading Series Committee. Please know that we typically choose authors a year or more in advance of the reading, and we are unable to return exam copies.
